Book for April

Um, Susan pointed out that I was supposed to post my book choice on the blog. Sorry, I forgot. (And was too busy having a nervy b.)

The book this month is called My Book, by me. Since it is not yet avaliable at the library, I (most considerately) printed everyone a copy. The book was originally supposed to be a retelling of Cinderella, but it took on a life of its own. Other than that, I have trouble describing it, and usually look at people blankly when they ask what it's about.

Celia has already told me it doesn't have enough fairies of unfortunate sexual orientation. So go ahead. Now that I've got this up, you may do your worst.

Candy,
This is one of the best books we have read in a long time. Maybe because we know the author.
You write in an easy to read and humorous way that I would read anything you write, even e-mails.

I know I'm not technically in the book club... But I started Your Book, by you, and now I REALLY need to finish it.

So... Did you print me out a copy too?

Alec,
I will get a book to you if I have to crawl throw the deseret on my hands and knees all the way to Tuscon.
But if you have a better suggestion, do let me know.

Um, and I meant "through," not "throw."

Candy,

Your. Book. Is. Awesome.

I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive because I generally don't like "princess" stories. However, you got me hooked. It was a great story that kept me interested. Your characters were likeable, well except for King Benedict. He was not a nice man. But anyway....GREAT JOB!!!!! ;)

P.S. I'm not just saying this so you'll thank me in the acknowledgments when you get published. You know if I hadn't liked it I would have told you because I am just mean that way. ;)

Linda,
I have seen no evidence that you are mean ever. And I'm glad you didn't start with me!

Thank you so much for your kind words. They warm the cockles of my heart. Whatever those may be.

Candy!!!!! Wow! I have always loved the books you pick but to have you write one and pick it for bookclub...we are doubly blessed! I loved it! I thought it was a fun, easy read. I couldn't wait to find out what happens next...an now I have to!! I really love Cullen and think he reminds me of my own husband whom I can't decide if I love or hate half the time!! Great Book!!!

Candy, or should I say....Dear "Me,"
I really enjoyed your book. I'm going to try to read it again before book club. Hey, I think this is the first book I read before the day before book club...That's a HUGE compliment!

Candy,
Loved the book! I'll have to blame you for my sleepless nights because I've been staying up late reading and wondering what would happen next. You write wonderfully and it's easy to read. Now you have me wondering what's to happen next and when the next part will be out! Can't wait!

Aw, you guys are totally my BFFs! Maybe we could form a book club, or something. . . .

[insert Sally Field impression here]

Seriously, thank you for your kudos, and for actually reading my book. I'm sure you were all thinking, "Oh, gosh, what have we gotten ourselves into now?" I could see the terror in your eyes as I handed out the copies. (Oh, wait, maybe that was me.)

Susan: Now my husband's all, "Do I remind you of Cullen, too?" I blame you.

Stephanie: You finished early? Pigs are flying! Oh, wait--that's just the swine flu.

Annell: Let me tell you about sleepless nights: I let some friends of mine read something I wrote, and I haven't slept since.

Well, no, not really. Actually, I've slept better than usual, but that's not going to last long, as now the pressure is on--I have to finish the second half!

I don't suppose you just let me forget the whole thing?

Candy....are you totally out of your mind??? We are already waiting on book 2 of my book choice and we've suffered the trama of having an author die before a series was finished...you best strap on your thinking cap and finish that 2nd half muy pronto! Never, ever even kid about not finishing it!!! NEVER!

I promise to finish it, Susan dear. It's my density.

Thank you all for reading, and for your kind comments at book club. I'm excited to see what you think of the second half. I'm excited to see what I think of it as well. To tell the truth, I'd be excited to think of it AT ALL. . . .

Ah, well, you know what they say: if you build it, they will come. I'm not sure how that applies, actually, but I never really understood it in the movie, either. I just like to keep it all surreal for y'all.

Hugs all around, Candy

Stephanie is a genius; therefore, I've decided to adapt her name as the official title for my book: Candy's Novel That Happens to Be a Masterpiece. Has a nice ring to it, dontcha think?
Thanks for the loverly idea, dear Stephanie!
